Applegate has been filming stories since he was five with his mom’s VHS recorder and his dad’s jazz piano. After delivering the valedictorian speech at college, the apex of his youth, he immediately joined the camera union working in features and television. For the past eight years he has worked as a DIT almost exclusively in commercials, responsible for the look and feel along with the DP. After delivering his 5,000th commerical he realized directing them is more fun.
